    About

    Lashing since 2011 · Teaching since 2015

26th IBAC Eyelash Extension Global Master Judge · Seoul, 2026

    Korean · English · 日本語

I'm Ellie. I've been doing lashes since 2011 and teaching since 2015.

I started in Korea and opened Romantic Eyes at Crystal Mall in Burnaby. Over the years I've worked on thousands of clients — Korean, Chinese, South Asian, Middle Eastern, European, mixed. Lashes are not the same across all of them. Thickness, curl, the angle they grow at, how much weight they can take — it all changes, and you have to be able to read it.

That's a big part of what I teach. Anyone can learn to place a lash. Knowing which lash to place, on the eye in front of you, is the part that takes longer.

I still see clients every week. I never stopped working on the floor, and I think that's why I teach the way I do. Everything I show you is something I actually do on real clients, not something I read.

I teach one student at a time, in Korean, English, or Japanese — whichever you're most comfortable in.

Most of my students came to me the same way: no experience, not sure they'd be any good at it, wondering if it was too late to start something new. That was me once too.

    How I Teach

A model sits down on day one.

Most courses spend the first day on theory and a mannequin head. You go home having listened, not lashed.

I do it the other way around. I send you the theory beforehand so you can read it at home, and we spend class time on your hands. I sit next to you, watch what you're doing, and fix it as you go.

That's the whole idea. You learn lashing by lashing.

Lash extension training — hands-on practice with tweezers

    Not Sure Yet?

    Try a 2-hour session first.

Two hours, one-on-one. You'll hold the tweezers, practice isolation, and place classic lashes on a mannequin — enough to know whether this is for you. We'll also talk through which course actually fits.

$250, everything provided. If you enroll in any course within 30 days, the $250 comes off your tuition.

    Courses

Four courses. Two for people starting from scratch, two for artists who already lash and want to add a skill.

    Classic Certification — 1 day
    For Beginners

    Classic Certification — 1 day

    $1,600 · 8 hours · $300 deposit

Everything you need to start taking classic clients on your own. We start with a live model on day one — theory goes to you beforehand so you can read it at home.

    What you'll cover:

    • Lash anatomy and the growth cycle, so you know why retention works the way it does
    • Sanitation and safety to Health Canada standards
    • Products: curls, lengths, thicknesses, and which adhesive suits which room
    • Room setup — posture, lighting, humidity and temperature, and why they matter more than people think
    • Client consultation, contraindications, and patch testing
    • Reading eye shapes and mapping a set that suits the face in front of you
    • Isolation, the part that takes the longest to get comfortable with
    • Pickup, placement, and adhesive control
    • Direction and symmetry
    • Refills and safe removals
    • Aftercare, and how to explain it so clients actually follow it
    • Forms, waivers, and pricing your work

Training kit worth $300 included. You'll get a certificate when you finish, plus three months of practice support afterwards.

    Private 1:1 — 3 Days + 3 Months Mentorship
    Most Complete

    Private 1:1 — 3 Days + 3 Months Mentorship

    $2,400 · 3 days, 5–6 hours each · $500 deposit

    The one I usually recommend.

Here's what I see happen a lot. Someone learns classic, starts taking clients, and a few months later they're back because people keep asking for volume. Or LED. And they have to say no.

So this course covers all of it before you walk out.

    • Day 1 — Classic

Everything from the ground up. Lash health, sanitation, products, and reading eye shapes. Then isolation, placement, and adhesive control — the part that takes the longest. Live model: full classic set.

    • Day 2 — Hybrid and volume

Making your own fans, and getting a clean base every time. How much weight a natural lash can actually carry. Layering, texture, wispy sets and spikes. Live model: hybrid or volume set.

    • Day 3 — LED extensions

LED adhesive with classic and volume, curing, and using the light safely. What changes compared to regular adhesive, and how to explain it to clients — including why they can wash their face the same day. Live model: LED set.

Three live models, a different one each day.

Taken separately these three courses come to $3,600. Together, over three days, it's $2,400.

Training kit worth $600 included. The LED lamp isn't in the kit — it's equipment, not a supply — but you can use the studio's lamp during your practice support.

For three months after you finish, bring me a model whenever you find one and I'll sit with you while you work. If you can't find one, I can help you find one.

    Certificate on completion.

    Volume — 1 day
    Skill Add-On

    Volume — 1 day

    $1,000 · $200 deposit

For artists who already do classic and want to move into volume properly.

    What you'll cover:

    • Classic, volume, and mega volume — what actually separates them
    • Weight, and how much a natural lash can safely carry
    • Handmade fans: pickup, pinching, and getting a clean closed base
    • Choosing fan width and diameter for the lash you're working on
    • Premade versus handmade, and when each one makes sense
    • Volume adhesive and why it behaves differently
    • Fan placement, layering, and building texture
    • Wispy sets and spike placement
    • Retention problems specific to volume, and how to fix them
    • Volume refills
    • Handling the harder conversations — complaints, sensitive clients, and expectations that don't match reality
    • Pricing volume work so it's worth your time

Training kit included. Certificate on completion, plus three months of practice support afterwards.

    LED Extensions — 1 day
    Skill Add-On

    LED Extensions — 1 day

    $1,000 · $200 deposit

For artists already lashing who want to add LED.

    • Using LED adhesive with classic sets
    • Using LED adhesive with volume sets
    • Safe use of the LED light, for you and for your client
    • What actually changes compared to regular adhesive
    • Curing technique
    • How to explain the difference to clients, including why they can get their lashes wet the same day

This one assumes you can already lash. I won't be teaching the basics.

    From Past Students

    What students say

"Had the pleasure of being a model for one of Ellie's students for a classic set. The set is gorgeous, the application and products used were all very high standards and quality. Ellie's teaching style is very detailed and calming. I would highly recommend getting services done here and taking classes as well."

    Jessica W.

Model for a student · Google review

"I was lucky to have Ellie as my teacher. Even after the course ended she kept sending me things she thought would help, and checked in to ask if I was stuck on anything. That kept me going on the days I felt like giving up. I started this course asking myself 'Can I really do lash extensions? Can I open my own shop?' It turned out to be the right decision."

    Jihye W.

    Classic course

"I was nervous about learning something new at my age, and I feel lucky I found the right teacher. The course is thorough and detailed, with things you won't hear in other classes. If you're thinking about a fresh start, I'd strongly recommend it."

    Soyeon L.

    Classic course

"I learned so much from Ellie, and it means a lot to say I have a mentor now. She made me feel comfortable the whole way through, and I finally got proper volume coaching, which is what I wanted most. 100% satisfied."

    What's Included

Every course includes the materials you'll use. There's nothing extra you need to buy on top of tuition.

One thing worth saying upfront: the LED lamp isn't in the kit. It's equipment, not a supply. If you take the 3-day course, you're welcome to use the studio's lamp during your three months of practice support.

After the course, I can help you restock. Just text me.

    Questions People Ask

    Do I need any experience?

For Classic Certification and the 3-Day course, no. Plenty of my students have never held a tweezer. Volume and LED assume you're already lashing.

Do I need to bring my own materials?

No. Everything you'll use is included.

    Do I get a certificate?

    Yes, for all four courses.

    Is this a government-accredited certificate?

No. Lash training isn't government-regulated in BC, and no lash school here issues a government-accredited certificate. What you receive is my certificate of completion. What actually matters is whether you can take paying clients when you leave, and that's what the training is built around.

Do I need to bring a model?

Bringing your own model works best, but it's not required. Models are provided during the course itself. For the three months of practice support after the 3-day course, you'll bring your own model — and if you can't find one, I can help you find one.

Can I take the courses in Korean or Japanese?

Yes. I teach in Korean, Japanese, and English.

    Which one should I take?

Tell me where you're at and I'll be honest with you. If a shorter course makes more sense for you, I'll say so.

Can I train together with a friend?

Yes. If two of you sign up for the same course together, each of you gets $200 off. Three is the most I'll take at once.
